Creating the lighting for a stop-motion animation T.V. commercial provided the interesting challenge of not knowing exactly what the finished product would look like until the film was developed. The cinematographer was insistent on both a strong directionality in the lighting with a good shadow and a good fill so that the shadow areas would not photograph as black.
